a long ramble re: recent meta and what can be learned from it
subtooting, while also bad, at least gives a chance for the *behavior* to be discussed instead of the *person*. you can argue that it has more social utility there because with that distance, you can get people examining bad behaviors - and checking themselves for those bad behaviors, too.
again, in an ideal world there would be neither. but i'm not going to pretend i haven't subtooted also, lol.

@wigglytuffitout I think subtoots are passive aggressive bullshit and the idea that they're "better" than more direct and specific ways of calling people is civility culture hogwash
gonna go to hardware store to look for stuff to try out some of the "pseudo water feature" ideas

@packbat haha! we feel called out, cos we play stuff like the Nimzo-Larsen and reversed Indian games as White because they tend to let us put our pieces where we like, avoiding mixing it up early. though Reti said this was bad for novice players

oh yeh this reminds me that one day I wanna try seeing if I can modify a "tuning fork" quartz crystal for use as a nanobalance. take advantage of the fact that it's got balanced tines, maybe...I'd need to study just how these things are used electrically
