Had a bit of a rough start to the growing season, honestly. Early season crops like radishes got demolished by birds, and most of my greens didn't sprout or went straight to bolting and never made much foliage. Nice to finally be harvesting veggies. Garlic scapes and strawberries!

Also got a book about bees and gardening focused on my province! Awesome!

Squeakers is a good boy and helped in the garden today. He likes the shade in the garlic patch, and does not step on the peas.

Taking part in a seed variety trial again this year. The EXPERIMENTAL WATERMELONS hybridized from 22 different varieties contains great mysteries and much excitement. There's also the unknown wonders of experimental rainbow kale that can supposedly tolerate temperatures down to like -20°c without dying.

It's like barely halfway through May and one of my tomato plants is already trying to bloom! Dang!
