the thing about nodejs is that since you have access to the system theoretically you can metaprogram by editing the memory of the nodejs process
like if you wanted to you could edit the AST parser and have it accept perl-esque function calls

honestly being like near or in politics messes with me because i am very much a "okay i'm just going to do things until i'm pretty sure stuff works again" and apparently that's not how politics works and you can't just destroy things that are making things worse because that's not ""diplomatic"" or something
