it's made of metal like the floor, but it's a definite bump over the rest.
it looks like it was almost something else entirely, but there's metal parts on it that are attached to the ground
if you look closely, it almost looks like a human crawling away

imagine in a sci-fi setting nanobots that automatically do this to normal structures so they remain standing but the nanobots can self repair with the metal stripped off the structure
imagine those escaping containment on a spaceship, leaving a spaceship that looks oddly and slightly terrifyingly organic
