homestuck was incredibly popular among teens. the amount of teens who left homestuck realizing they were lesbians because of rosemary and the amount of teens who left finding out they were dudes because of dave is pretty high, and homestuck doesn't even have those as the central plot point.
dream daddy is incredibly popular among teens and is entirely about dads dating each other. also you can customize your player dad to have a binder.
the conclusion is obvious.
it fits the theme of all my favorite previous characters (dumb as hell, rowdy, gay) so odds are itll pan out.
it all fits enough and the only like, questionable thing is having a flavor item (a book of sheet music) from an earlier dude survive the world being reset (a ton of stuff/people did so i feel this isnt too out of the question)
spent a lot of time recently drafting up characters for D&D since the current campaign we're in deals a lot with going up against stuff we dont have a chance of interfering with. i'm on dude like, #6 right now (everyone else is on their third dude tops) and never really felt particularly involved in the plot. so naturally i went all-out and wrote up a backstory for a bunch of Very Married bards who accidentally composed and signed a blood oath to help out the party while shitfaced in the woods.
@amphetamine @kara_dreamer h'okay, so.
I'm an academic and "academic" doesn't describe one type of person. Personally, I use "wizard" as an insult.
Wizards think of themselves as smarter than others, and try to make their science as esoteric and confusing as possible, taking lack of understanding as a sign that their work is too advanced for others. Respect, in the form of awe and quasi-worship, is everything to them.
Witches are unafraid to speak their mind, do their best to make their science useful and interpretable, if not doable, by all. They value respect, but in the form of people listening/using their earned title.
