re: I’m sorry, but I have a Star Trek opinion, and you’re going to hear it. If you click this. If not, go about your day.
@danacorn agreed, All Good Things was incredible, and so was First Contact
i can get being unhappy with Insurrection and Nemesis (i sure was!) but there's nothing stopping folks from doing what i do: just ignore the entries you don't like!
@Sacchi it's not as bad as it sounds, Chain of Memories is TWITCHIER than i expected (seems like we have to be almost to the edge of the death zone to not pick up stacks) but the big thing is that 1. we need (ranged) DPS to kill Level Checker but also 2. we need heals to top off after Delta Attack
there's also the fact that surviving the meteors at the start of the Level Checker phase is a 50-50 coin flip (opposite-pole tethers = survive, same-pole tethers = fucked) but at least it's doable
@Sacchi i was confused for a sec till i realized you meant A8S and YEAH, A FRIEND AND I RAN A SHITTON OF SAVAGE RAIDS UNSYNCED, WE RAN INTO PRECISELY THIS
we made it all the way up to O11S which has been a brick wall for us so far, i have every job at 90 but she only has Dragoon, we need a different party consist to survive Program: Loop -> Delta Attack
just before i woke up i dreamt that there was a new genre of poetry where, in between each stanza, you include a link to a relevant tv tropes article and an excerpt of it that leads into the next stanza
i can't even give you an example of what i mean because i think it's too high concept for my puny mind
@typhlosion this makes me think of both Fist of the North Star, where the same pressure point arts Kenshiro uses to make people's heads explode can be wielded to heal them instead
and FFXIV, where the Monk class gets a "Solar Nadi" and "Lunar Nadi" they charge by performing Blitz attacks which leads up to their super finishing move
@grapenuts_robot "This is JUST fine!"
@DanaTheElf you could just...3D print a replica shell or something, if you really wanted "modern kit with retro aesthetic" @_@;
@Nick_Craver i for one am certain that the AI apocalypse will not be the product of some singularity unilaterally deciding that the extermination of humanity is a moral or practical imperative but rather the result of Elon Musk or someone in his crowd ordering some critical value tweaked in some system he does not understand which ends up having some catastrophic, civilization-rending cascade effect
