I post a lot about politics, and the ugly things in this world, but I am often reminded that there are kind and loving people too. I read this story on Tumblr, and had to share:
A while back my pharmacist saw my deadname on my profile and accidentially called it out, he corrected and deleted my deadname from the system so only my preferred name shows up now. There was a crowd of people behind me, so as he hands over the pills he apologized, in equal tone and volume as when he called my deadname and lied saying it's been a long day and he didn't mean to call out -his own- name. I quietly told him it was fine and he didn't need to do that for my sake.
His response: "No, it's my name now."
I went to the pharmacist yesterday, his nametag is my deadname. He informed me he's immigrating and in the process he's changed his first name to my deadname to have an English sounding name. That's why he's now able to get a reprint of his nametag to be my deadname. And repeated, with the intense seriousness of someone who is going to die on this hill: "It's mine now. Not yours. I'm taking." His tone indicated that decision is final.
Bro literally deadnamed me once, and has committed to flat out stealing my deadname. It's his now. Legally. Officially. I over heard his co-workers call him by the name.

Finished! Or as finished as it will ever be, I was tempted to try and turn it into a full painting but zhat seemed pretty daunting and in a rare moment of restraint I decided not to. Also I was too harsh on zhe artists of zhe past about how zhey painted horses, horses are hard to draw and I need to practice zhem I zhink. Also zhis is my first drawing wizh such a dynamic motif and I did it wizhout references and I really don't know how I did
Zhree #yinglet brigands pulling a rider off his horse on zhe road to town
Still very much a work in progress, it'll take some work to add all zhe details and rework a few aspects to my band of #yinglet brigands
This is actually the OPPOSITE of doomposting but:
Don't let Cohost make you think that better things aren't possible online. Cohost actually had a better conversion rate than most websites by FAR. People WERE in fact willing to pay for a site that doesn't try to trick them into watching ads or engaging for clicks. They just had a poor business plan. But I've seen posts like "guess nobody's willing to pay to not be the product..." and that's not what happened here at all, people were in fact willing to pay, heck some people were buying extra subscriptions (which functionally did nothing) just to pay MORE.
@Hearth @typhlosion it's literally the N64 version of Tetris Attack
I've no longer got a job, and I'm also kinda completely broke.
So if anyone has a few extra dollars they can donate to help me make it to my first payday, that'd be very appreciated.
I'm kinda horribly broke again and need to get back to getting out of my storage units, but at the moment I can't even pay for them, let alone the shelving/truck/time I'd need to be able to move out of them. So if you're able to donate something, that'd be really helpful!
okay hear me out. theres a lot of empty space inside NES cartridges. what if we, the brave pioneers of the homebrew community, put it to some use
you're sort of limited with what you can get away with unless you want your gimmick to only be visible/usable when you play the game on an NES-101 or other toploading model, but it's still fun to think about
i wanna do stuff this year but i havent done any stuff you can give me money for yet. if you want to give me money anyway, i appreciate it: https://ko-fi.com/kasran it will go toward paying off my credit card
