Realising I have a large, simmering hatred just under the surface for large, progressive US cities like Seattle. LA and Portland because of how they're almost always the only places mentioned when people talk online about irl queer community and dating and it's so isolating and alienating to be a queer person who can't just catch a bus into the place where apparently every other trans person on the planet is just because I wasn't born in in the Universal Sponsor of Atrocities
@Atatra yeah, that's something we've noticed too. we live in the backrooms of car centric infrastructure (the very edge of the metro detroit area) and there are like basically zero social networks here for us to be apart of
Oh you live a 30 minute bus ride from a city center that regularly sees queer meetups, orgies and pride events? Yeah I'm in the bumfuck nowhere south of England with coast on one side and miles of farmland on the other and like 80% of the population here is conservative geriatrics who think I'm a dirty tranny who should put a gun in its mouth so yeah I don't exactly feel a sense of community from all these talks about the queer experience
