something that's really funny to me as someone who isn't a fan of pokemon is when people go against all of the established lore to say 'actually i want some kind of monster that has human intelligence and can talk and be my friend' like buddy, what you want is digimon, i promise you're gonna have a better time if you just accept pokemon are by and large animals rather than people, go watch greymon fight a giant parrot, it's great
