@amieravenson strip malls are a rare find here. Colchester and parts of Burlington have the big franchises. After living in the country on the lake it’s a bit of a shock going there now. Haha Vermont is mostly like the 1960s or earlier. My friend reads the police blotters for kicks. They’re pretty funny. You’ll love it here. There is so much nature to enjoy and like minded people.

@pammystarr @amieravenson@home.social lol that is talking her language, for sure. I'm not quite as into living miles and miles away from people. But I grew up in the woods, with deer and foxes wandering around in my yard every day. I kinda miss that. And not playing "gunshot or fireworks" every night. And snow. And wood stoves.

@BearRavenson I remember the Is that a gunshot or fireworks game when living in Las Vegas. Almost always it was gunshots.
There are only 600,000 people in #Vermont, mostly democrats, a very high number of tree huggers, wildlife protectors, bird counters, etc. I wish I had moved here in the 70s with all the hippies.
You don’t hay the fields until the bobolinks are done nesting in them!
