imo a lot of ppl in left-leaning spaces online project way too hard onto mass media and like, consumer identity groups or however its called. "feminism in gaming", "antiracist praxis in the scifi community" and so on.

stamping out oppression is obv a good thing but ppl limit themselves by seeing their political horizons as neatly squaring w the boundaries of consumer identity groups & it serves to divert ppls energies into trying to prove these things somehow belong to the underprivileged
