1) So I've always kinda liked anthros, but I struggled to identify as a furry for a long time. I jokingly act like a cat a lot of the time around friends and loved ones, but it was only after making a game with anthro characters last year that I felt comfortable calling myself a furry. I went to my first fur con too and had a great time!
2) I first discovered furries back in my deviartart days. I came across a lot of comics with anthropomorphic animal characters, and really liked the look.
I guess I can also cite Disney, lol.
I saw a few fursuiters at cons and thought they were neat.
3) I like how generally accepting furries are of lgbtqa+ folks and neurodiversity. I don't feel the need to hide parts of my identity when talking to furries.
