if you’re mad about coast guard guy’s comments about “the taxpayers” having to foot the bill for the search:

1. the money to pay the personnel would’ve been spent anyway (fair play about the cost of activating the equipment though)

2. i promise this is not the dumbest thing the government has spent money on this year, maybe not even this WEEK
