Most plants are green. Makes sense, right? They want to absorb as much sunlight as possible, so they go for the strongest wavelength

Except them being green means that they *reflect* green light, not absorb it. They reject the largest portion of the sun's light

Afaik there's no conclusive theory for why this is. One of the most accepted is that plants can't handle too much light at one time - kind of like if you just kept feeding an animal eventually it'd stop helping and start harming
