@boots also, if you see it in the federated timeline, it means that someone on your instance probably follows them.
Or, other. Because there's some bugs in mastodon federation still I think.

@boots then they really shouldn't show up. Unless someone's interacted with their toots (fav or boost, or even searched their profile).
I don't know if these bugs have been fixed yet. I should probably look into that, tomorrow.
@boots I didn't actually see him in the federated timeline, but he's writing me from another account.
Not sure why... Maybe it's because I'm a woman and I'm not freaking out about him being "mean" to me.
