okay why have I been getting dozens of new followers even though I have posted nothing that has gotten any attention? is everyone just finally making the jump from twitter or what is going on?
@skye its against twitter's tos to link to mastodon now and previous links are supposedly going to be removed soon
at least that's why I rushed to remake an account today and look up people's old links

It's not just links to mastodon. Links to any other social media site is banned too, Facebook etc.
(With glaring exceptions of ... Certain political leaning ones ... *whistle*)
He's even planning a way to stop the ways around the link ban: like url shorteners, spelling "dot", even pinning a screencap of your profile...
