ok so in concept the whole idea of like. easy symbols or whatever to indicate current emotional state / ability to talking / &c. is really great? but uh, it doesn't really work in a medium like this one. it really only works when there's some kind of constant or immediately available reminder of what everything means
like, i'd love to be able to signal that stuff on here, and i'm gonna boost it whenever i see it bc it's a great idea. but it's absolutely hostile to my comprehension in this state
there Should be a convenient way for people to nonverbally express a general mental state. but it's not currently being developed alongside a system wherein people who don't have the option of just memorising the guidelines have a way to understand it
and really the primary issue is that if it's not accessible for people to understand, they're gonna have to ask for clarification. which, yes, defeats the purpose, but more importantly can cause problems for people who are signalling a bad state
@autistikai not now, but in the future maybe like a noninvasive brain computer interface that enables others to feel what you feel? that's something I've been dreaming about
@autistikai true, didn't think of that, although maybe sometimes to truly understand how a person actually is, such strong emotions have to be felt in order to be understood
popup is a good idea though
@autistikai and it only turns on after you've had at least two coffees in the morning, you know, to avoid total chaos
@schell perhaps! in my imo, assuming that level of technology, the best option would probably be the ability to record and then selectively share one's own experiences
