@bright_helpings reminded of a scholarly take on the Tower of Babel story that mentioned the idea went much further than simply "the hubris of man"

pointing out that going back to the original Hebrew, the implication was that the "unity" of Babel was a forced assimilation, imperialistic ambition

funnily enough it was on Twitter that i read it but the point still stands

it really just kind of makes the comparison all the more appropriate
