Tomorrow (Saturday the 4th) at 2 PM EST (11 AM PST) I'll be streaming the Super Metroid map randomizer. I've done some streams with an item randomizer, which results in taking different routes through the same map, but this one generates an entire new self-consistent map so it's practically a new game. I'm excited.
As usual, I will be using a mod that replaces Samus with Alice from the "Touhou" series. Ridley stole the precious thing and I am going to get it back.
(I never dug the Zelda entrance randomizer since it kind of violates the reasoning that makes a video game playable at all— little huts can contain gigantic castles— but Super Metroid takes place on a grid, so you can still use spatial reasoning to make tentative guesses about how the game world is going to look, which from the one video I watched makes a big difference.)
