Looks like Microsoft cleared out of the office space in Lincoln Square. Which is a bit disappointing because a group of us would trudge up the 28 flights of stars and then use our keycards to the cafe at the top where we could get a drink of water and an elevator back down. Rinse and repeat a few times and it was a pretty good workout.
Tried it on Tuesday (one of us still has a keycard) and couldn't get in. Several floors along the way were clearly abandoned. Which meant we had to trudge down 28 flights of stairs as well, which sucks. Did that twice, but stair climbing as exercise is definitely more unpleasant when you have to go down as well. Yesterday I was fine, but today my calves are most displeased about it....
@wildweasel It's true. Mostly it's because I'm old enough to not want to land hard on my knees at each step, so there's a lot of surprisingly precise muscle work involved in softening the landing. Repeat a few hundred times and ouch.
