Hot Take: I don’t think making a graphic novel at Alan Moore’s level is actually that hard, and don’t understand why more working pros aren’t doing it. The only thing stopping me is money that would provide the time needed to do so.

@katewillaert All it takes to make a graphic novel at Alan Moore's level is a substantial disdain for one's audience and a sincere belief that you are smarter than the readers ever will be. And a pinch (or five) of pessimism to taste.

@wildweasel There's a lot I dislike about Alan Moore, but there's also a lot of craft stuff he does super well that too many writers overlook in favor of the surface elements.
