@likesoldmacs I can hear the music in this picture.

Although to me the music sounded a bit off on an iMac G3 but I'm very biased by how it sounds on DOS machines.

I actually don't know much about MIDI rendition on (PowerPC) Macs. Did they always use (the same) wavetable sound font or did some use FM synthesis for MIDI, like it was with early Sound Blasters cards?

@loadhigh @likesoldmacs iirc MIDI synthesis is handled by the version of QuickTime installed on the system, so the music could sound radically different between a PB running System 7.x and an iMac running >OS 8.6. I think QT4 and up are using a General MIDI library that samples a Roland SC-55, which is roughly the same thing Windows was doing starting from around 2000 or so.
