Things We Invented For Computers That Are Still Kind Of Okay:

* UTF-8 and Unicode, I guess (except Unicode now changes literally every year)

* some kinda font thing I guess, did we settle on OpenType? Is it still a terrible Turing-complete malware hole or did we fix that?

* keyboards except when we don't have them

* LCD screens? they're ok?

* touch screens, maybe

* oh heck not USB but ugh it's there, eww, is there any way to make it safe?

* bytes. I think we all agree bytes are good?
