@meimeimeixie Sounds like they're both worth picking up - I've always intended on reading more horror, but haven't really ever known where to start... so, I appreciate the recommendation. :blobuwu:

As for recommendations that I can offer... honestly, I'm coming up a bit dry I'm afraid. I'll let you know if anything comes to mind however!

@meimeimeixie I think it's a wonderful example of what horror can be. Horror isn't something that has to be built on a foundation of gore, cheap scares, or exploitation. It can be beautiful, just as beautiful as any other genre.

I definitely agree with you regarding the big reveals - I feel like everything involving Nellie was a prime example of this.

It sounds like the novel is worth picking up as well?

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz you're driving a hard bargain :blobsleepless:

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz ok ok, how about this

we're both cute

@meimeimeixie I've been intending to gush about this at some point today! I watched it in two sittings over the weekend, and was absolutely blown away by it.

I'm a big horror nut and love trying to dig up hidden gems, but this... was easily one of the best things I've seen. We desperately need more stuff like this.

@slimekat anime suggestions? I'd say Twelve Kingdoms and Seirei No Moribito are both winners that don't always get massive amounts of attention. Haibane Renmei as well.

@peachsnout@yiff.life he's the hero we need --- but is he the hero we deserve? :blobthinking:

@pandora_parrot likewise... it just doesn't seem like my cup of tea.

the Switch I bought a couple weeks ago came with a code for a bunch of random in-game stuff for it, but I'm more inclined to just give it away at some point than actually use it myself ^^;

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz truly, these are among the most beautiful words that our language is able to afford us :blobowo:

...or maybe I'm just weird :blobthinking:

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz the greatest and grandest bean :paw_fx90_pray:

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz awwww, thank youuuuuu! 🧡🧡

:blobuwu:

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz ditto. I really, really don't miss endlessly yelling out into an infinite and empty void over there. :blobnomouth:

@fluttergirly home might be where the heart is, but Portland is where the Frying Scotsman is

(one of the many reasons I miss living there)

@kelly good point. a one-way express trip to hell would be a much more appropriate course of action 😅
