@heyheather@snouts.online i've been binging tng with my partners to help pass the quarantine time and there was one episode that did address it, in which some of the crew members found out that they'd unwittingly been in the holodeck dealing with a holographic ship and crew without realizing it

@heyheather@snouts.online I ended up getting a free trip to vegas a few years ago, and holy carp the buffets. my (equally pressing) sanitation concerns ended up playing second fiddle when i saw the food ;_;

other than that, though... yeah, the only two other times i'd been to a buffet since childhood i ended up feeling awful afterwards, so I tend to be wary af about them. the vegas ones seemed pretty legit tho, and were cheap af

thinking about the inevitable food waste makes me really fucking sad though :/

@heyheather@snouts.online there was this -one- buffet that i'd get taken to when i was a kid, and that was pretty much always my reaction to it on the rare occasion that we'd get the chance to go due to being pmuch broke af

the idea of being able to run around grabbing a little bit of basically everything basically set my child brain on fire with happiness and curiosity since it was good for trying new things without being totes buggered if i didn't end up liking it
