seattle, real talk (-)
came here bc ok it's "progressive" and people were probs more "woke". the reality of seattle is encapsulated by me weeping quietly at my desk as i'm struggling to get anything productive done while a group of white lesbians in front of me have Discourse and swap tales of visiting Bali and other vacations
this is my seattle experience in a nutshell. there are two seattles - one for poc and the neurodiverse and others that don't Fit In. another for white people that Fit In
seattle, real talk (-)
@wolfcoder @Kyresti hehehe, let's put it like this
the person that runs the social justice thing at my job is rich white and has self-satisfaction. when i tried to share my experiences as a poc, it went Bad and i ended up getting into a serious fucking mess.
i have an easier time understanding a xenophobe than i do understanding someone that says all the right things, gets credit for it, And Then accidentally curb stomps me and keeps going bc they have no clue it hurts
a money (-), request for assistance
i um
well, i'm out of money until next week. i've been missing a lot of work since the accident due to physical therapy appointments and other things, and it looks like my pto has once again not been approved because what the heck even is payroll anyway, so um
yeah if you can spare a couple of dollars it'd be really, really helpful
thank you, i'm sorry

fuck
green monochrome monitors were so futuristic when i was a little crow
like, you have to understand, coding in quickbasic was so exciting, we only needed 640kb of ram, and floppy disks were actually floppies
ofc, the first thing i did was to crash the computer in the most destructive way possible
i have no idea how i did it, but that cpu burned
@Chel that was a thing.
my favorite part of that was telling people "yeh, we wrote our own software" and looking at the incredulity and laughter from people
then they saw it and were like, "uh fuck, this can't be real!?"
ofc, none of this matters bc forums are now the old thing and uh... federated stuff is the new hotness????
thinking back to my days running forums and such
...I honestly hated just about every single forum suite I've ever used, with the exception of one that @Scarly made, and I only liked that one because I dictated basically every aspect of it.
Not sure how to boost this more. But let's get this inf ront of the faces of those 922 patrons, whom are paying for supporting and running Mastodon (which should include the moderation team right?)
"Reimbursement for the mastodon.social mod team"
It is time to get the main (and Only truth be told) moderator of Mastodon.social a living wage. please.
I was inspired to draw do this after having sat next to @Scarly while she examines the mastodon source code
