new foods are a wonderful side benefit of cross-cultural marriages. a fairly one sided cultural exchange took place here, though
chel's family gifted my family with strange pink stuff. we gifted chel with glorious sweet potato pies.
i mean really
I have discovered the joys of sweet potato pie, courtesy of @Scarly and her sister
@Chel : started playing Birthday Massacre on extremely low volume
me: uh, i have concerns about my concussion, the ringing in my ear seems to be musical now!!!
"If I had my way, I'd eat on a futon. I'd use my computer on a futon. I'd exist on a futon. [...] Futon science. Futon sorcery. Futon love. [...] We live in a futon world. You just haven't woken up and smelled the futons yet.... wait...what are you typing?!" - @Scarly on the phone with me during her lunch break.
"I'm not ashamed of futons"
i just finished watching a bunch of really white stuff
i had two observations -
a - white people are, as a general collective, pretty strange in ways that are complex and difficult to communicate
b - white humor/memes/music are often appropriated from other cultures to an incredible degree
c - it's amazing how much low level racism infests entertainment created by supposedly 'woke' people
that's three but wow
so my partner, @Scarly just lept out of bed, ran through the apartment, jumped up and yelled “I AM OVERLOADED IN SPOONS” while cackling madly
