You might be an Internet Ancient if you:

β€’ remember Netscape Navigator

β€’ ever used any modem with a bandwidth of 28,8 or lower

β€’ had an Early Adopter account on Livejournal

β€’ witnessed the rise and fall of PhPBB

β€’ witnessed the rise and fall of Napster

β€’ used the web before Google existed

β€’ ever used a dialup BBS site

β€’ remember Gopher

β€’ ever downloaded music as .mod files

β€’ remember when about 90% of the web was made up of personal sites which were "under construction" and had pictures of people's cats on them

β€’ remember when Yahoo was literally just a big list of websites

β€’ know IRC commands

β€’ have heard anyone unironically use the phrase "information superhighway"

β€’ can recognise different bandwidth modems by what bleepy handshake sound they make

β€’ have ever received one of those chain e-mails where you have to scroll through about a kilometre of forwarded headers only to find a "hilarious" vaguely lewd image and/or a banal list like this one

trans men are men, trans women are women, and nonbinary people are

cool

@KitsuneAlicia@octodon.social in japanese folklore cats that live long enough develop supernatural powers and become bakeneko, and nekomata are a certain kind of bakeneko characterized by having two tails

we wouldn't say neilyn is a protector (if anything she's the least suited for that role in her normal cat form), but as a demon she's powered by evil and spite and uses it to push back against the system and protect her friends

@KitsuneAlicia@octodon.social time-based powers are certainly claire's domain

we don't know exactly how neilyn became a demon, but we imagine it's in a manner similar to a nekomata

@KitsuneAlicia@octodon.social neilyn is pretty much all homura, and adopted her demonic form to push back against the system

@KitsuneAlicia@octodon.social i'm a bit of both, though i lean more toward homura

30-day Video Game Music Challenge day 17

music you never get tired of:

Galaxy Force II (Arcade) - Defeat (Scene B)
composer: Katsuhiro Hayashi

this was a tough one to pick for, so i decided to go with some classic sega jazz fusion. the same composer also did the soundtrack for quartet, which i considered for this list
