gender neutral terminology
"Dude", "guy", "man", etc. aren't gender neutral. You and I might fuck a dude, guy, man, etc but, again, not gender neutral.
And more importantly, if a significant plurality of people are asking you to stop calling them that, then you should fucking stop and find a new word- there are plenty of fine words to use.
And hell, even if one person asks you to not call them that, you should be finding a new term to address folks- oh look, an easy gender neutral word to use
