Pinned toot

Hey fairy friends, if you didn't already know, you can find me over on cybre.space. I really don't handle multiple accounts very well so I just switch from time to time.

It's @Jules and I'm trying to use @jules for more creative things but I just can't separate and so it's just another account.

Anyway, come over and say Hi if you like

Please tell me about nice movies and series to watch over the next few weeks ๐Ÿ’™

I prefer sci-fi and fantasy but not exclusively :dark_elf: :dragn: :green_potion: ๐Ÿš€

Also changed my avatar color to match the one on witches.town, so don't be confused.

Trying to be more instance-fluid ^^

I want to be on cybre.space again so hello, hi and so on. ๐Ÿ’พ :shaved_ice_rainbow: :heart_nb: :heart_trans: :heart_bi: :heart_ace: :so_gay: ๐Ÿถ

New Rule.

If you recommend alternative medicine to a chronically ill person you have to pay for it.

Me: man I'm really lonely, I should try to meet people

Also me: I can't talk to that person I don't know them

Look, I'm a big lad, but even I wouldn't want to go to a conf where that's written on the door lmao

Ahhhhh yeah! I have connected with 100 human followers on this elephant ride. For my next feat, I will find another Black person on here somewhere ๐Ÿ˜‚ Or, maybe a few of yโ€™all could meet me halfway? ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐ŸพโœŒ๐Ÿฝ#BLM #M4BL #blacklivesmatter #POC

Is there a #config flag for #Mastodon whether followers are visible to accounts on other instances?

Like: I can see the followers of a mutual on, say, mastodon.social, but not dice.camp, for example.

If your podcast is just an excuse to chat with your friends for an hour or so and no one who isn't on your Discord server downloads it, it is still extremely valid and a good idea. I wish I carved out more time for hour-long discussions with my friends.

Hm, seems like my search for an enby was not successful so far. Let's try this instead:

I have one ticket for #34c3 that I would like to give away (for free) to a queer person. Preferably someone who wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise.

(Please do check if you are able to figure out travel and accommodation in time!)

The book I just started to read when I should be sleeping is "Anthropology-Based Computing" by John N.A. Brown.

Basically the book is interrupting my sleep, is this bad design?

"Humans are apes. Like other apes, we enjoy organizing things into categories. I believe that we do this so that we can pretend to understand them better than we really do. Whatโ€™s more, we believe that we really do it well. Consider the examples of the labels โ€œnightโ€ and โ€œdayโ€. They are clearly different and mutually exclusive, so those seem like very good labelsโ€ฆ but where do you draw the line between one and the other?"

"So this isnโ€™t really a book about computers. This is a book about how to make your technology less likely to accidently interrupt, insult, injure, or kill you or anyone else."

Okay I'm giving this book a try...

Insulting technology is a thing!
