Look, I'm a big lad, but even I wouldn't want to go to a conf where that's written on the door lmao

Ahhhhh yeah! I have connected with 100 human followers on this elephant ride. For my next feat, I will find another Black person on here somewhere 😂 Or, maybe a few of y’all could meet me halfway? 👊🏾👍🏽👌🏾✌🏽#BLM #M4BL #blacklivesmatter #POC

Is there a #config flag for #Mastodon whether followers are visible to accounts on other instances?

Like: I can see the followers of a mutual on, say, mastodon.social, but not dice.camp, for example.

Hm, seems like my search for an enby was not successful so far. Let's try this instead:

I have one ticket for #34c3 that I would like to give away (for free) to a queer person. Preferably someone who wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise.

(Please do check if you are able to figure out travel and accommodation in time!)

The book I just started to read when I should be sleeping is "Anthropology-Based Computing" by John N.A. Brown.

Basically the book is interrupting my sleep, is this bad design?

"Humans are apes. Like other apes, we enjoy organizing things into categories. I believe that we do this so that we can pretend to understand them better than we really do. What’s more, we believe that we really do it well. Consider the examples of the labels “night” and “day”. They are clearly different and mutually exclusive, so those seem like very good labels… but where do you draw the line between one and the other?"

"So this isn’t really a book about computers. This is a book about how to make your technology less likely to accidently interrupt, insult, injure, or kill you or anyone else."

Okay I'm giving this book a try...

Insulting technology is a thing!

Yay, I now have #pleroma running on a PYNQ-Z1 FPGA board. It has a 650MHz dual-core Arm Cortex-A9 with 512MB RAM. That is not enough memory to run #mastodon though.

the idea that talking in person is better than talking on the phone, and talking on the phone is better than communicating on text-based media, is some weapons grade ableist horseshit

I'm 91% of the way to my goal of raising $2000 for the Pioneer Valley Workers Center, an organization that fights capitalism, fights for workers, & fights for undocumented families in Western Massachusetts; the most impoverished region in MA. We do everything from hassling state legislatures for anti-wage theft laws, a 24/7 support hotline for undocumented people facing deportation, vigils and rallies, to bail & barricading construction on the local ICE office.

Hey folks, if you're doing #sneepsnop2017 and your instance supports the feature, consider pinning a toot containing some things you like so your snopsneep has something to go on. :)

"An undirected graph shows simple relations between objects, such as friendship between people." do go on, wikipedia

Is there a #nonbinary person who would like to go to #34c3 but has no ticket? I won't go and want to give away my ticket to another enby.

Hey y'all, I need a signal boost please.
My friend and their mom are in danger of being evicted if they can't raise about 12 thousand dollars by the end of the month.
They are both so lovely and good, their mom does so much community outreach and she really needs help right now.
If you could retoot this or even donate that would mean the world to me and my friend.
Thank you all <3
