I internalized the song title "now there's that fear again" as smthn reflective of my fear of crossing this line that so many deplored, n now that I've so thoroughly crossed it then I need to say it to myself every now n then whenever I feel as though I'll never be happy on the other side of that line

it kinda filled me w hope at a time when everyone around me was constantly expressing disdain for anything the slightest bit feminine, n obvs I listened to the album privately on a lil portable CD player

n what I mean by that is that it wasn't afraid to be all these stereotypically feminine things (gentle, stoic, simple)

I'd like to talk to you about an album v near n dear to my heart called "finally we are no one" by mum

at the height of my listening almost exclusively to avant garde modernism I still listened to this regularly n what appealed to me was the sorta unusual (at the time) ensemble groupings n that it was so unabashedly girly at a time when I was so deep in the closet

tho it'd be kinda cool to turn smthn from girls rituals into chamber music too

if I ever do arrangements of other ppl's stuff again I might try to like make an ensemble version of persian surgery dervishes
