I have a question about the MIT license.

Let's say you decide you want to use a software library for something, and that library is MIT licensed.

Does your project's code have to be MIT licensed as well? If not, how would you specify which portions of the code are under an MIT license?

@InspectorCaracal No, you don't; it's not a copyleft license. If you include the library itself, then you need to include the MIT license with it (chances are, it's already there), but your code can have any compatible license

@MiseryMyra Thank you! Does it need to be included separately with a compiled final product including the code, too, or just within the code?

It's such a loose license that I keep being like "but it's too VAGUE" xD

Follow

@InspectorCaracal As far as I know, it does need to be included even with the compiled final project as part of either the documentation or in an about page

@InspectorCaracal On that note, this reminded me that I need to add the libtcod license to the Monster Genetics binary
