NetHack shenanigans

After getting amnesia, I took off all my clothes (in case of destroy armor) and read an unknown scroll at an altar. The scroll burst into flames, angering a god who threw lightning at me. I barely survived, but while I was hastily putting my armor back on, the priest came over and finished me off

Good morning, everyone. I hope you all have a lovely day

I lost another good NetHack run to a jerk who summoned a monster that just so happened to be a demon lord that froze me in place and annihilated me before I could move again

I went to court with a friend to get his name legally changed today, and it was approved. Being in court is kind of intimidating, but it was otherwise a pretty painless experience

In NetHack, I found the grave of another player who was killed by a wand of death, and I was immediately zapped with the same wand. Later, I found my own old grave of myself getting killed with a wand of death, and I was then immediately zapped with the wand of death again

I was close to the end of a NetHack run when a soldier picked up a cockatrice corpse and whacked me with it, turning me into stone. RIP me

Kindness is a very good and sometimes undervalued quality, and I admire people who are kind despite everything they have gone through

Today is a very important day.

That's right, it's my cat's birthday.

Oops, I stayed up past my bedtime reading about differential forms again

I recently played through All Our Asias, which is a short narrative game that's free on Steam. It was a nice experience, and I think it's worth checking out: store.steampowered.com/app/698

They call it NetHack 360 because when you see it, you turn 360 degrees and walk away

I just realized it's a little weird that "crisp" often refers to things that are cool, yet "crispy" often refers to things that are hot

I finally got around to playing Gone Home. It was very nice & very gay. I recommend it if you haven't played it before

I ascended for the first time in any NetHack variant today, including vanilla. It was quite an experience. The variant I ascended in is FIQHack, which I mentioned earlier. Here's the log, if anyone is interested: hardfought.org/userdata/M/Mise
