Different accounts on different instances, that is. So one here and one on cybre.space.

Is it bad practice to x-post publicly to two Masto accounts? I feel it's a bit spammy for people that browse federated timelines.

Hm.

DC jacks arrived too! I'll measure 'em, make a super basic mount in tinkercad, then install them tonight. :>

First impressions of the TS100 soldering iron…

It's bloody good. Heats up fast, and can go as low as 100c (perfect for heatshrink).

After using it to wire up the LEDs and such, I could (probably) safely say I'd be happy using this iron exclusively.

It's a bit of a pain-in-the-ass for left-handed people like myself, but there's open source firmware that fixes that issue.

Amazon seems to be the best place if you need a power adapter included (amzn.to/2yAOwIU), otherwise use AliExpress.

Lighting is more-or-less finished on the 3D printer now. Just waiting on a female DC socket; I decided to power it separately, rather than using the 12v header on the mainboard.

Will take pictures once that socket has arrived and gets installed. :3

Btw, I have an account over at @Morgan@cybre.space too! Though right now, I'm using this one the most.

tfw your soldering iron is open source, has custom firmware available, and someone makes Tetris for it.

What a time to be alive.

Couldn't help myself. Bought a $5 USB powered soldering iron. 😂

Like "soft-touch" materials usually do, just MUCH faster. ;v;

Hm… might need a new soldering iron.
The one I have now got soaked in machine oil during a move and now the soft rubbery bits are sticky AF.

Sweet. Wire arrived, so now I can make a start installing LED strips to the printer. :3
