This post can reach not only #Mastodon & the #Fediverse, but beyond like #Bluesky. How far can it go?
I have built a tool to aggregate, with what software and from which instance it is boosted (or faved). Please share far, to show where you're seeing this.

So a couple of weeks back I was riding my bike and saw the friendly face of a former customer/colleague at an intersection and waved. He messaged a few days later suggesting a drink, which we have just had.
And we get on famously, talked shit and serious stuff for two hours. He's a little older than me. We might both be asking ourselves about adult ADHD, and thinking about our lives, and wondering how the fuck we got here. As we reconnected and it became apparent we are both fatherless now, he posed the question: who replaces them in our lives? We are both short on older men we can talk to now, the repositories of wisdom we can connect with are few and hard to find... and the answer is, it's us. Our peers. We are now the last numerous generation. (As my older and old friend Matt observed when my dad died: the world is a little colder when you're an orphan. The buffer generation between us and death is gone.)
And he's been having a few problems but honestly who hasn't, I know I have. It's good to start mapping out our common territory.
And I thought about my Dad who when he died had such a tiny circle because his friendships had revolved around work, and my mother did all the social stuff. His last good friends were actually all my mother's old friends.
And all this is to say, my fellow ageing straight dudes: don't miss that chance to connect. Go talk shit. Take a chance on someone who may or may not share something of how you see the world (and what if they don't? maybe you can learn something from that or at least have fun being surprised). We can't leave it to the women in our lives, it's not their responsibility and we could do with exercising the ancient muscles of friendship. See what happens. Could be good. Give it a go.

Normalerweise gebe ich grundsätzlich heimlich was ab. Aber, manchmal muss man einfach Aufmerksamkeit generier.
Die Signal Foundation hat kosten von rund 50 Mio USD jährlich für einen Dienst der niemanden Geld kostet. Und das zu finanzieren braucht man entweder Spenden, oder man verkauft die „Kundschaft“.
Wer also ein klein wenig über hat (und sei es nur ein Euro) der kann ja mal ein Gedanken daran verschwenden ob man das Projekt nicht unterstützen möchte.

This Recall thing is a prime example of how bad we are at understanding when something is a systemic problem.
It doesn't matter if *you* disable it. It doesn't matter if *you* install Linux. It doesn't matter if *you* set your computer on fire and move to a Luddite commune.
If you have *ever* sent sensitive data, no matter how securely, to another person who now has this shit enabled, and they find your data and look at it, your data is compromised, and there's nothing you can do about it.

The culture war over gender affirming Healthcare so frequently ignores the fact that only a small percentage of gender affirming care is actually for trans people. The majority is for cis people who are accessing it for the exact same reasons as trans people, feeling more comfortable in their gender identity.
I was prescribed spiranolactone because my body makes more testosterone than I want it to, and as a girl I do not like having excessive facial hair. Easy easy, doctor tested my blood and wrote the prescription. I didn't have to prove anything other than I wanted less facial hair, and because I'm cis everyone involved trusted that my personal preferences and discomfort were enough to give me what I needed to solve the problem.
Most top surgeries are performed on cis men (to treat gynecomastia and create a more masculine chest) and cis women (to create a more feminine chest). Most hormone therapy is given to cis people to help them comfortable in their gender.

I'm in the process of removing a lot of art from Instagram and other Meta sites, due to their decisions to use our data to feed their AI. Instead, I am planning on only posting art that is protected with Glaze: a sort of overlay that confuses AI scrapers. I'd recommend that all artists and creatives on Twitter and Meta do the same. Hey, liebe 3D-Druck-Bubble...
Was kann ich tun, wenn mein Drucker (Prusa MK3S+) von jetzt auf gleich große Probleme mit dem gleichmäßigen Transport von Filament entwickelt?
Habe bereits Filamente und Düsen getauscht, es mit PLA-Kaltzug probiert, die Düse ohne Filament mal auf 280°C gebracht und mit der beiliegenden Nadel nach Verstopfungen geschaut. Es ist besser geworden, aber immer noch ziemlich unbrauchbar :(
Bin dankbar für Tipps, Tricks und RTs :)
