@_elena I can tell you, learning a new language at our age is going to be a challenge, but incredibly rewarding. You’ll feel your brain forging new pathways, and it’ll get a bit easier. Learning German will pave the way to other Germanic languages :)
Don’t worry too much about grammar; you’ll get it at some point. In my experience, Germans tend to be extremely tolerant of mistakes and very willing to help. Even if your .. my mistakes are so bad they cause confusion they’ll lovingly help clarify.
@PartyPlantain yes, the Fediverse has been amazingly encouraging.
Re: age, I already learned French in my adult life... and I'm currently fully fluent in Italian, English and French, so I feel like my brain is somehow predisposed to learning new languages. We'll see with this one 😅
@_elena
We as humans are islands of beauty, wonder and mystery to be explored. The language is bridges that allow us to connect to eachother.

I love about you is that this is a task you’ve taken on! Generally, your penchant for wanting to learn things is admirable—never stop wanting to learn.
Also, I love how supportive people are of this endeavour. Fedi's, you’re amazing.
