anyone else get that problem where like, u wanna play a new game, but u just wanna chill out and dont wanna have to learn a whole new bunch of mechanics so u just end up playing the same shit over and over?

like i swear this is the only reason i enjoy modded minecraft

@PolyCement Except that some modpacks make the game completely new and you'd need to learn a whole bunch of new mechanics anyway. ;)

That sure is the case for me with the SevTech Ages modpack...

@trinsec this is true, i'd been playing thru sevtech ages recently and i found it different enough to be fresh but familiar enough to not put me off

(but my map corrupted so i had to give up lol)

@PolyCement Awwww... try afresh? With the gained knowledge from your previous play you should be able to rock through the stone age faster this time! (Pun intended!)

(How'd the map get corrupted? I never got a map corrupted, so I'm curious. The game should have automatic backups with Forge/FTB?)

@trinsec im not sure how it got corrupted, i was heading out to a darklands biome ~5700 blocks away from my base and about 2/3 of the way there the map just stopped loading, then mobs froze, i couldn't eat food, etc

unfortunately cos it wasn't an update that caused it there wasn't an automatic backup, but atlauncher looks like it'll let me backup manually so i'm gonna try and remember to do that next time

@PolyCement Ah, I use the Twitch client (formerly Curse launcher) to get my modpacks. The modpack in there had backups already set up and such. I think it's part of FTB Utils, so AT Launcher probably has some other scheme for backups.

@trinsec i cant use the twitch client cos im on linux, guess i just gotta hope atlauncher's manual backups work
