For context I have problems with loud, looping noises. When I was a kid and we'd get a big storm, my parents would understandably leave the weather emergency notice on the TV so they could see what was going on. (Imagine the same harsh noises looping for minutes on end.) At some point it got permanently wired to a switch in my brain that makes me dissociate, so even hearing a similar sound once messes with me.

The Amber Alert noise on my phone makes me immediately dissociate. This is not a bit. It brings back haunting memories/nightmares of weather channel alerts played on loop
