The meter is all over the place, and for it to work, you need to place emphasis on all the wrong syllables. For a nursery rhyme— a work of poetry primarily transmitted orally— it’s really difficult to build up that rhythm crucial to establishing it in your memory. This is a minor thing, but it REALLY bugs me
