body horror, dark, spider book spoilers
"All they'd have to do is cut the disgusting parts off. Hell, I could do it myself, with a bit of help. I'd lose everything. My arms, my legs. But people have lost so much more, haven't they? You could tell everyone that I was in a car accident. I'd live, and I wouldn't hurt anybody else.
I've already hurt you, too. I've seen the way you look at me. Your sick fascination. So go ahead, touch as much as you want. I'll let you keep the parts that I cut off!"
Welp, that's all the book updates for today. Chapter 3 is about halfway done. I'm gonna go to bed. 🕷️
On that note, 3-4 main characters feels right. This isn't the sort of story that works with a huge ensemble cast, but I'm sick and tired of writing monogamy.
Also there's something very fun to me about the idea of a scene where a drider, a lamia, and a normal human all try to cuddle without exploding into a big noodly mess
For future characters, I'm debating whether or not to include a lamia. On one hand, cliche, on the other hand, lamias make gay brain go brrrrrr
He still uses he/him pronouns because he honestly just feels more comfortable using them, but the whole incident of turning into a giant spider lady threw his gender all out of whack. He very vaguely identifies as a lesbian, but he's got a lot of jelly in his jam that he needs to unpack before he can make any conclusive statements about it.
Chris/Kris (the giant spider lesbian in question) is roughly based off of the tarantulas that my grandmother used to take care of, rather than the "traditional" spiky armored type.
Because... I mean... Fluffy spiders are better for cuddling.
I awaken from my two-hour spider lesbian book stupor, and discover that two hours have in fact passed
