Imagine having a queue of 600+ links of stuff to see later

Couldn't be me, haha (lying)

I made an HTML/DOM viewer you can paste into your console to view or debug any website in 3D. Choose from random/gradient/clear colors or whether layers have sides.

You can save it as a bookmarklet so it's 1 click away. It's just a tiny IIFE JS function.

"Sometimes people use β€œrespect” to mean β€œtreating someone like a person” and sometimes they use β€œrespect” to mean β€œtreating someone like an authority”

and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say β€œif you won’t respect me I won’t respect you” and they mean β€œif you won’t treat me like an authority I won’t treat you like a person”

and they think they’re being fair but they aren’t, and it’s not okay."

summary of Hetzner meta

@anotherconfused@toot.lgbt
Sure, I'll try to explain.
πŸ’™

Hetzner is a company that rents servers to anyone looking to host a website (such as a fedi admin). They happen to be one of the cheaper options, which has resulted in a situation where a majority of fedi instances are using Hetzner's servers. Recently, they attempted to shut down a well-known fedi instance for "hosting child pornography" which was actually a single yuri drawing that:
1. Did not picture any children.
2. Was not porn, it was mildly lewd at worst.

When pressed on this subject, they clarified that they don't allow
any NSFW content on their network, and (we can infer) they consider depictions of lesbians to be sexual in nature. That is an old, well-known technique used by bigots to appear more legit.

This crisis was eventually averted by negotiating with Hetzner to only remove the image - instead of the whole website - but the problem still exists. A great many queer instances are at risk of being shut down if Hetzner notices their existence.

Companies *need* to be liable for everything their "AI" outputs

I really loved the case when AI chatbot of an airline hallucinated nonexistent discount and the court ruled that the airline has to give that discount to the customer

Suddenly, the chatbot disappeared from their website πŸ™ƒ
