Got a #GameDev design question,

Imagine a 3rd person game (Wind Waker or kind of even Ratchet and Clank), where when locked on or otherwise aiming/strafing, tapping a direction + jump does some kind of strafe jump. Side flip, backflip to create distance, forward leap to close distance. Jumps that go high but keep you aimed at your target. Cool?

So an odd quirk is that the forward leap there only makes sense if you're not already rubbing noses with your target. You probably don't expect the forward leap to take you OVER the target. (or maybe you do!)

Given that, if you Forward+jump when locked onto a target and you're already rubbing noses with, well. What do you expect to have happen?

When I was a youngster in the late 1980s, I formed an Amiga game development team with two partners.

Before making complete games, we started by selling game music that used very little RAM, made with our own music editor: SIDmon.

To promote our game music, this energetic music module was composed by our musician Ramon Braumuller. The file, including tiny sampled sounds, is only 22 kilobytes.
