Pretty underwhelmed by mastodon so far. Is there a way to block all anime? Glamorous selfies from groups I'm not interested in seeing that way, bizzare meaningless posts? Ie is there a way to filter out the 98% stream of horse shit? If not mastodon is doomed

I've noticed recently publicly viewable #github repos don't allow anyone to add issues. Is this new since MS bought it?

Is there something like mastodon that is more popular? It seems like a good idea, also not sure it has enough users yet.

The layout on desktop is not too terrible. Are there like any add-ons or easy ways to modify the css that don't require getting a pull request accepted? The columns are a little thin, also don't like how the message entry is always at far left
