i guess this is today's reminder that i was pretty literally taught like. actual druidcraft growing up
everything from appropriate respect of the spirits of the land to how to survive in the woods with only a knife. really more like druidcraft++ tbh. druidcraft, but also you learn how to build your own shelter and hunt and such
@loki yeah i won't touch wicca with a 39.5-foot pole i prefer my witchcraft free from cultural appropriation and transmisia (i hear present-day wicca has largely fixed those problems tho)
but yeah, i won't hesitate to say that this particular aspect of my childhood Was fucking awesome. not a lot of it was, but this stands out
all this knowledge ended up being incredibly useful when i figured out my religiosity was something something paganish syncretism, which of course i didn't realise at the time
would've been nice if it'd been like. closer to the belief sets i align with. just for convenience's sake. but honestly i prefer it this way bc now i have both a solid basis of knowledge And an intimate understanding of basically another culture. and research is fun anyway
