re: my many black lefty feelings rn
I see grown ass adults who are emotional cowards seek continual easy hits of deluded superiority, and I watch in fascination as they return over and over again to racist/misogynist/transphobic talking points just as dogs return to their vomit.
Maybe feeling superior to bigots isn't that scandalous (I'm evaluating the content of their character after all), but it's an uncomfortable feeling still.
my many black lefty feelings rn
I've had a minute to process my feelings about how a very large percentage of my country are xenophobes, white supremacists, or nazi sympathizers and that they've embraced this ideology intentionally. Right-wingers haven't been "tricked" or "conned," they're obviously happy to enact their malice. But like many of you, I want a pluralistic, egalitarian society where everyone is safe and valued, where we collectively take care of each other.
the amount of work and self care that must go into being sweet and trusting and patient with people almost constantly?? unfathomable! and *you* get to reap the benefits. *you* get to know a real neat cute person who like, cries about animals and probably bakes us cookies an stuff
re: hypnokink trashpost
@fluxom_alt gods, this is basically just my goals in terms of "i wanna make the worst possible bad puns". completely unrelated to kink. bc i am a horrible gremlin

I watched the video people have text transcripts of, and like... she was nearly in tears talking about this.
Also?
The way she talked about it? The fear? The anxiety? I've seen it before in friends I've known that have been targets of this kind of online abuse. And in myself from my fam
I'm not saying she's right. I'm not saying she doesn't deserve criticism. What I am saying is that what's going on right now is straight up abuse, and no one deserves that.
Coming out as trans question, Please boost
How do I even start going about trying to come out as trans? Are there resources for this? How do I even go about describing this? Assume my parents don't have the slighest idea what being trans is, they don't want a daughter all of the sudden, and I more than anything just want to be honest about my mental space with them. I'm drafting a letter to read to them right now, I guess.
gender
Gender assigned at birth is deeper than just how parents raise them. It’s what media tells them they’re supposed to act like. It’s how teachers and caregivers influence and treat them. It’s how these influences make the child think they’re supposed to act like. You cannot escape gender in current day society unless you actively push back against it.
