So, I guess it's time for me to request that people please CW Christmas stuff, because as a retail/service industry worker, seeing posts about that compounds existing stress in my life and kinda makes me not want to be here.

I'm not a "Grinch" or a "Scrooge" I'm just stressed the fuck out around this time of year and it'd be nice if folks would respect that. Thank you.

On trans bodies +

I love trans bodies and I really love being a part of a community that celebrates trans bodies.

This is really the only place where I can find the kind of transgressive joy that comes from posting a nude and instead of being met with awkwardness, revulsion, fetishization or silence, I am met by warmth, love, appreciation and kindness.

And I get to see that experience repeated when people post their nudes again and again and again.

Don’t ever forget how powerful that is.

there is nothing remotely stressful about meeting an autist with a less fluent social mask than me, except that the presence of an allist in the room makes my social-dynamic-compute-o-tron brain subroutine SPIKE in CPU consumption

I think one of the most powerful parts of queer liberation was when we made labels about self identification instead of things other people called us based on behavior, giving us agency over who we are

Even the theists who criticise organised religion for its faults often make generic assumptions in their arguments based on their own experience. They fail to acknowledge the diversity in belief systems and sees every faith through the same lens, again aiding bigoted narratives.

Most atheists only know about one religion well: the one they disowned. But they tend to make careless assumptions about the rest when they "oppose all religions equally". And since they are quite uninformed about other religions, they easily fall prey to bigoted narratives.

The secret goal of Mastodon is to create a majority-anarchist environment such that any individual who joins will be exposed to those ideas to the extent that they're properly explained and normalized to them, then occasionally bring in new batches of people with enough time in between for the old batch to be subsumed into the antiauthoritarian mindset before the new batch arrives

It's all part of our Cultural Anarchist agenda, you see

I think it's been a while since I said this:

It's a damning realisation that the idea of India you were led to believe ever since childhood was nothing but a grand old myth. A myth which was shaped by the insecure majoritarian narrative by hiding the very many vices and exaggerating the few virtues. For someone like me, it took a lot of years of unlearning to finally understand the reality of this society.

Better late than never, I suppose.

I don't understand what the kids these days are doing with gender, and I love it! History didn't come to a grinding halt when I came of age, and I'm glad that I get to learn so much from both those who came before me and those who will come after me.

It's ok if you frighten cis people by being nonbinary.

Their fear is the fear of the unknown, and there is no shame in being part of the deep, terrifying, mysteries of life.

Capitalism: under communism/socialism everything would be centralised.

Also capitalism: 5 companies own everything.
