Especially for black people, prioritizing your mental health, taking it slow, and mitigating the effects of chronic stress right now is a radical act in a world that overworks us to the bone and sees our lives as disposable. Please take care of yourselves right now and smother yourselves with self-compassion! We have to fight but we also need to listen to our bodies and rest. i love you
I've just released a free interactive fiction!

You are a Wyrden, an observer of stories. And sometimes, in just the right moment, you can nudge fate and set people on a new path.
Wyrden. is an interactive fiction that will be updated regularly with new stories.
Each story is designed to take less than 5 mins so it's easy to fit into your day.
Plays in your browser. ^_^
good design: the developers of N++ found that a lot of playtesters felt like they sucked at the game because they kept dying, so they made it so that the demos that play on the title screen are all of the character failing. you'll never see the ninja on the menu reach the exit. it's as if to say "don't worry, you're supposed to die a lot. you'll get there."
hilarious design: as you play the game, those demos get replaced with your own fuckups
asthma inhalers, ecofascism, vent

Never, ever let environmentalists tell you that "some human lives" are an acceptable cost to pay for the environment because people died the last time they said that and won. That's not abstract.
That's murder.

asthma inhalers, ecofascism, vent
When CFC inhalers suddenly got replaced by HFA inhaler two things happened:
1) Pharma companies got to disappear their competition in the form of generic CFC inhalers since the FDA and Friends™ decided the new HFA devices could be patented.
2) Rescue inhalers got crappier because HFA doesn't propel albuterol as well as CFC does which means you need more lung power to be able to use your rescue inhaler. Yeah...
So why now?

asthma inhalers, ecofascism, vent
So back in Ye Olde Days of ~20 years ago asthma inhalers used chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) as a propellant. You know, the same CFCs that made holes in the ozone layer. Bad shit for the environment. So they replaced them with inhalers that used hydrofluoroalkane (HFA).
... and suddenly CFC inhalers disappeared from the market and two things happened:
