like seriously i can't parse a word they're saying it's buried behind so many layers of misinformation, false conclusions, and lack of research. this person is supposed to be a historian, but all they seem to be documenting is their own bias
they set me up to think one of the characters was queer-coded and snuck in actual gays while i was in the middle of being disappointed about the queer-coded character turning out to be straight
honestly if u want me to like a fiction just. take the collected works of ursula k le guin, smush it all together, and make it Even More Queer
but like, seriously. her fantasy & s.f. is:
• feminist
• primarily or entirely nonwhite characters
• no nations, no borders, no capitalism
• cool magic and/or space stuff
• oh yeah it's already got queer characters
also shes just Good At Writan im lov the worlds & suchlike
a bug, not a feature.
