So to recap, most people don't understand how computers work, least of all the legislators, google and friends are making a fortune off our backs marketing AI as something very big and important, much more than it actually is, but despite that it's still very complicated and means that we're gonna have a real bad time if we start relying on it and them for any reason

ok so im just trying to figure out what languages are useful no matter where your game's set and uh. this plus local languages, basically?
cantonese, english, german, japanese, mandarin, or'zet, russian, spanish, sperethiel
afaict it'd take the linguist quality and 24 knowledge skill points to be good with all of these at chargen. which is mildly absurd. at best i could only fit in one more language on top (by taking bilingual)
just finished plotting out one who knows 50 languages at character creation. i may end up using like. two of those
Microsoft has removed the ability to create an offline account on new Windows 10 installs unless your PC is offline. Disconnect your network / modem before installing Windows 10.
Another option is to keep trying to create the MS account with a fake phone number until it gives up and lets you create a local offline account.
Bonus tip - if you don't want to set security questions when creating an offline account: create one without a password and then set the password via the control panel after logging in.

"are you purring?"
[a flustered noise] "w-wha? n-no, i don't have cat organs, i'm designed to be humanoid, you know that"
"but. what's that noise"
"fans."
"i thought you were water cooled?"
"y-yes, but there's fans too, for uh. emergencies."
"what's the emergency, cutie? should i stop?"
"n-no it's just that you're petting me and i like that veryveryveryverymuch"
a lotta dudebros are willing to be woke as long as that means not actually listening or respecting a woman's opinion
@grainloom in todays capitalist society a company making lasting goods like this also has to have a subsidiary making things that /are/ constantly replaced or they go out of business - a good contemporary example is GoldPeak electronics which owns both Celestion Loudspeakers and the GP brands of primary cells/batteries (loudspeakers are often kept for decades, but (non rechargeable) torch batteries are still useful and widely consumed even in 21st century..
